GhIG Executive Committee Retreat – One Week On

Exactly a week ago on Friday, 1st May 2026, the GhIG Executive Committee met at the GGSA Seismological Observatory, GIMPA Road – Accra. The strategic retreat was to formally orient new leadership and align priorities for the 2026 – 2027 tenure. The retreat reinforced: * Our resolve to maintain strong, ethical and transparent governance. * Clear accountability for delivery of action plans. * Renewed focus on member growth, welfare, and the establishment of professional standards. * Commitment to advocacy for issues such as the Geoscience Act, institutional sustainability, and regional participation. The Executive Committee reaffirmed it’s resolve to place the wellbeing and progress of the Institute and its members at the heart of every decision, while positioning GhIG as a credible, relevant, and impactful professional body. The work continues – with focus, unity, and purpose.
