GHANA INSTITUTION OF GEOSCIENTISTS (GhIG) EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS 2021
FIRST INSTRUCTIONS TO THE CANDIDATES

DATES: The Ghana Institution of Geoscientists is holding General Elections
for officers on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th November 2021.

MODE OF CAMPAIGNING AND VOTING: Voting shall be done only by
means of Electronic Voting online countrywide. There shall be no Physical
Campaigning by Candidates. All Campaigning and Communications shall be
done electronically online.

PRESENTATION OF CANDIDATES AND MANIFESTOS: Each
contestant is required to record and cause to be uploaded online at the
Website of GhIG:
(i) the Candidate’s Profile, and
(ii) the Candidate’s Manifesto of vision, policy, objectives.
This is meant for the candidate to present self and tenure agenda to the
general membership of GhIG sufficiently and equitably. The recorded
campaign material should include “a facial recognition” picture; and it
should be made to run/play for a duration of up to 2 minutes (strictly not
exceeding 2 minutes) for each candidate. Material exceeding 2 minutes shall
be deemed to be edging for undue advantage, and so will be classified as
disqualified. The campaign materials of candidates will be hosted for at least
ten continuous days at the Website and taken offline 30 hours (1¼ clear
days) before commencement of the voting exercise itself.

TIMELINES: Candidates are respectfully required to submit their Campaign
Materials readily to the GhIG Website Officer as soon as possible to be
uploaded to reach the General Membership of GhIG. The time for this
campaign-material upload is from Wednesday 10th November till Monday

THE FINAL SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE ELECTIONS WILL BE
RELEASED SOON AFTER THIS: The final set of Instructions regarding
the Elections 2021 will be released by Saturday 13th November 2021 to All
Contestants, Eligible Voters, and General Membership online.
